TEHRAN - Iranian music was performed in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on the occasion of Eid-ul Qorban.

The Tajik minister of culture, the Tajik presidential advisor, some foreign ambassadors and a great number of Tajik poets and art lovers attended the event, which was sponsored by the Iranian Embassy.

The music group Dastan featuring singer Mehrdad Kazemi performed Iranian traditional music.

Also, Iranian artist Alireza Amini performed a shadow show and was warmly welcomed.

Tajik Culture Minister Keramatollah Alemov congratulated the people on the occasion of Eid-ul Qorban and said that he considers holding these cultural programs a step towards expanding cultural ties between the two Persian-speaking countries of Iran and Tajikistan.

Mentioning the expansion of cultural cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan in recent years, he said that he hoped that cultural relations between the two countries would increase even more.

The charge d'affaires of the Iranian Embassy said that these programs introduce the culture of Iranian music and art to people from other countries.
